Migo Lingo Privacy Policy
Migo Lingo Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 4, 2026
Migo Lingo respects the privacy of its users. This Privacy Policy explains how information is accessed, stored, processed, and otherwise handled when users interact with the Migo Lingo mobile application ("Application").
Migo Lingo is a language-learning application providing vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, listening, reading, speaking, interactive exercises, and optional AI-assisted language-learning features.
1. No Account and No Migo Lingo Learning-Data Backend
Migo Lingo does not require users to create an account.
Migo Lingo does not operate its own backend server, user-account database, or cloud storage service for storing users' learning progress or normal Application state.
Information required to maintain normal Application functionality is generally stored locally on the user's device.
Depending on the features used, locally stored information may include:
Optional user-provided name
Learning progress
Completed lessons
Scores and achievements
Learning preferences
Favorite words
Application settings
Other information required to maintain the user's local Application state
Migo Lingo does not upload this locally stored learning information to its own servers because Migo Lingo does not operate a backend service for receiving or storing such information.
Migo Lingo does not sell or rent users' locally stored learning information.
Third-party services integrated into the Application may independently process certain information as described below.
2. Local Data and Application Deletion
Because Migo Lingo does not maintain a backend or cloud database containing users' learning progress, Migo Lingo does not maintain a server-side backup of locally stored learning data.
Local Application data generally remains on the user's device until it is removed by the user, the Application is deleted, Application data is cleared, the device is reset, or the operating system otherwise removes the data.
Deleting Migo Lingo or clearing its data may therefore permanently remove locally stored learning progress and settings.
Migo Lingo cannot restore locally stored data that no longer exists on the user's device.
3. AI Tutor
Migo Lingo may provide an optional AI Tutor designed specifically for foreign-language learning and practice.
Depending on available functionality, the AI Tutor may assist with:
Conversation practice
Vocabulary practice
Grammar practice and correction
Sentence practice and correction
Speaking and language practice
Role-playing
Everyday conversation scenarios
Travel-related language practice
Language practice appropriate to the user's selected level
The AI Tutor is an educational language-learning feature and is not intended to provide medical, legal, financial, psychological, emergency, or other professional advice.
Generative AI may produce inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, unexpected, or otherwise incorrect output. Users should evaluate AI-generated content accordingly and should not rely on the AI Tutor for decisions outside language learning.
4. On-Device AI Processing
Migo Lingo uses platform-supported on-device generative AI technologies for supported AI Tutor functionality.
iOS — Apple Foundation Models
On supported Apple devices and operating-system versions, Migo Lingo may use Apple's Foundation Models technology to provide AI Tutor functionality through an AI model made available on the user's device.
Supported AI Tutor prompts and responses using this implementation are processed through the applicable on-device AI technology.
Availability depends on factors such as compatible Apple hardware, operating-system version, Apple Intelligence and Foundation Models availability, supported languages, system configuration, and other Apple platform requirements.
Android — ML Kit GenAI and Gemini Nano
On supported Android devices, Migo Lingo may use Google's ML Kit GenAI Prompt API, powered by Gemini Nano through Android's on-device AI infrastructure.
For this implementation, supported AI Tutor input, model inference, and generated output are processed locally on the user's device through the applicable on-device technology.
Availability depends on factors such as compatible Android hardware, operating-system and system-service support, Gemini Nano model availability, supported functionality, Application version, language, system configuration, and other platform requirements.
Migo Lingo AI Data Handling
Migo Lingo does not operate its own remote AI server for the on-device AI Tutor implementations described above.
Migo Lingo does not upload AI Tutor conversations to its own servers for AI processing or permanent storage.
AI Tutor conversation content may be maintained temporarily within the Application as necessary to display and continue an active conversation.
Because the AI technologies are provided through the user's operating-system platform, their availability, model versions, technical behavior, and supported capabilities may change when Apple, Google, or the device manufacturer updates the relevant technology.
5. Sensitive and Personal Information in AI Tutor
Users should not provide sensitive, confidential, or unnecessary personal information to the AI Tutor.
Users should avoid entering information such as:
Passwords or authentication credentials
Banking or payment information
Government identification numbers
Private medical or health information
Highly sensitive personal information
Confidential business information
Private information about another person without permission
The AI Tutor is intended for language-learning conversations and practice, not for storing or processing sensitive information.
6. Microphone and Speech Recognition
Migo Lingo may request microphone and speech-recognition permissions for features such as pronunciation practice, speaking exercises, and voice input.
Microphone access is used when the user actively uses functionality requiring voice input.
Users can control microphone and speech-recognition permissions through their device settings.
Migo Lingo does not operate its own backend server for recording, receiving, or storing users' microphone audio.
Speech recognition may be performed on-device or through speech-recognition technology provided by the operating system, platform provider, or device manufacturer, depending on the user's device, operating system, language, configuration, and feature being used.
Where a platform provider independently processes speech-recognition information, that processing is subject to the provider's applicable privacy practices and terms.
7. Text-to-Speech
Migo Lingo may use Text-to-Speech functionality provided by the user's device or operating system to pronounce words, sentences, stories, or other learning content and to support pronunciation and listening practice.
Text-to-Speech availability, voices, and processing may vary according to the user's device, operating system, installed voices, language, and system configuration.
8. Advertising — Google AdMob
Migo Lingo may use Google AdMob to display advertisements.
Although Migo Lingo does not operate its own backend for storing users' learning progress, Google AdMob and related Google Mobile Ads technologies may independently process certain information in connection with advertising, measurement, security, fraud prevention, analytics, or related functionality.
Depending on the platform, Application configuration, user's settings, consent choices, region, applicable law, and advertising configuration, such information may include:
Device and technical information
IP address
Advertising identifiers or other applicable device identifiers
Advertising and interaction information
Diagnostic or crash information
Application performance information
Other information processed by Google Mobile Ads as described in Google's applicable documentation and privacy policies
The exact information processed may depend on the Google Mobile Ads SDK version, enabled features, consent status, platform, and configuration.
Migo Lingo does not sell users' locally stored learning information to advertisers.
Google's independent processing of information is governed by Google's applicable privacy policies, terms, and consent requirements.
9. Third-Party and Platform Services
Depending on the platform, device, and Application version, Migo Lingo may rely on technologies or services provided by platform providers or third parties, including:
Apple Foundation Models for supported on-device AI functionality on iOS
Google ML Kit GenAI APIs and Gemini Nano for supported on-device AI functionality on Android
Operating-system speech-recognition services
Operating-system Text-to-Speech services
Google AdMob and Google Mobile Ads technologies for advertising
These technologies may have their own technical requirements, privacy practices, terms, and data-processing behavior.
Migo Lingo's lack of its own backend for users' learning progress does not mean that third-party advertising, operating-system, or platform services cannot independently process information necessary to provide their respective functionality.
10. Children's Privacy
Migo Lingo may be used by users of different ages, subject to the Application's applicable age rating, platform requirements, local laws, and parental or guardian supervision where appropriate.
Migo Lingo does not require users to create an account and does not operate its own server-side database for collecting children's learning profiles.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise children's use of mobile applications and AI-assisted functionality and to review the privacy information applicable to the Application and relevant platform or third-party services.
Where required by applicable law or platform policy, Migo Lingo may apply appropriate protections, restrictions, consent mechanisms, advertising configurations, or limitations for younger users.
11. Data Security
Migo Lingo is designed so that users' normal learning progress and Application state are generally stored locally rather than in a Migo Lingo-operated cloud database.
Supported AI Tutor functionality described in Section 4 uses applicable platform-provided on-device AI technologies.
Users are responsible for maintaining reasonable security of their devices, including device access controls, operating-system updates, and other available security protections.
No method of electronic storage or processing can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Third-party and platform providers are responsible for the security of information independently processed through their respective services, subject to their applicable terms and policies.
12. Data Retention and Deletion
Migo Lingo does not maintain a server-side user account or database containing users' normal learning progress.
Locally stored Application data generally remains on the device until:
The user removes it
Application data is cleared
The Application is deleted
The device is reset
The operating system otherwise removes the data
Migo Lingo does not maintain its own server-side archive of AI Tutor conversations processed through the on-device AI implementations described in this Privacy Policy.
Temporary conversation state maintained by the Application may be removed when the applicable session ends, Application data is cleared, or the Application is removed, depending on the implementation and device behavior.
Third-party services such as Google AdMob and platform services may have independent retention and deletion practices governed by their respective policies.
13. User Choices and Permissions
Users can control certain Application functionality through their device and operating-system settings.
Depending on the device and platform, users may be able to:
Allow or deny microphone access
Allow or deny speech-recognition access
Adjust advertising or privacy preferences
Manage applicable consent choices
Clear local Application data
Delete the Application and its locally stored data
Disabling certain permissions may prevent related features from functioning correctly.
Because Migo Lingo does not maintain user accounts or a server-side learning database, there is no Migo Lingo account containing learning progress that users need to separately delete.
14. International and Regional Privacy Requirements
Migo Lingo may be made available in multiple countries and regions.
Privacy, consent, advertising, children's privacy, and data-protection requirements may differ by jurisdiction.
Where required, Migo Lingo may use platform or advertising-service consent mechanisms, limit certain functionality, or apply other measures intended to comply with applicable legal and platform requirements.
15. Access to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy is intended to be available:
Within Migo Lingo through the appropriate Application settings or information section
Through the applicable app-store listing where required
On the publicly accessible web page where this Privacy Policy is published
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to Migo Lingo, its functionality, supported AI technologies, third-party services, legal requirements, platform policies, or privacy practices.
Updated versions will be published together with an updated revision date.
Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
